Welcome to PHCC of the Redwood Empire
The original motto of the PHCC, founded in 1883, still holds true today, " . . . to advance the science and art of our trade by encouraging inventions, making known discoveries and improvements in appliances, fostering an interchange of thought, and eliciting and communicating the result and experience of all. "
Our emphasis is on training, be it apprenticeship training, service and repair classes, or business management seminars. We're also active on the political front, both locally and nationally, protecting our industry from unjust legislation. It is in this spirit that we have that we bring our efforts and assistance to you - our members - and our future members!

The PHCC of the Redwood Empire is dedicated to the advancement of our local plumbing industry. We serve the North Bay area, which includes Sonoma, Marin, Lake, Napa, Solano and Mendocino Counties.
Tom LeDuc, 2010-11 President of PHCC of California , is a longtime PHCC of the Redwood Empire member and 2011 Board member. He has this to say about why he joined and continues his involvement in the PHCC of the Redwood Empire , "PHCC is an extremely professional trade organization. PHCC is important to our community because it strives for the highest standards to be executed by the plumbing industry. PHCC stresses education and training for plumbing employees, who become better and eventually excel at their trade, which benefits the public - protecting their health and safety in regards to the water they use in their daily life."
When you become a PHCC member you meet and work with your competitors, which makes everyone better. You meet manufacturers, suppliers, building officials, insurance experts and a host of other professionals who help you understand the ever-changing plumbing industry - this alone is a great resource for you in your ongoing education in plumbing and running your business.
When you join the PHCC of the Redwood Empire as a contractor you automatically become member of the PHCC of California and a member of the PHCC National Association. As a PHCC member you receive the valuable benefits, such as group insurance rates, opportunities to get excellent training for your employees and great networking opportunities with some of the best and most experienced people in the plumbing industry.
Founded in New York in 1883 as the National Association of Master Plumbing, and since 1963, Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling, PHCC is the oldest construction trade association in the country. And although the original founders probably could never have envisioned just how technologically advanced we have become, they must have had an inkling. For their original motto still holds true today:
" . . . to advance the science and art of our trade by encouraging inventions, making known discoveries and improvements in appliances, fostering an interchange of thought, and eliciting and communicating the result and experience of all. "
While the actual physics of our industry will never change, the technology and codes do so constantly. And while in the past, being proficient at your trade was enough to operate a successful business, today you must be a savvy businessperson. Here at the PHCC of the Redwood Empire, we understand that the integrity and success of our industry depends on direct involvement on many fronts.
Our emphasis is on training, be it apprenticeship training, service and repair classes, or business management seminars. We're also active on the political front, both locally and nationally, protecting our industry from unjust legislation. It is in this spirit that we have brought our efforts to you – our members – and our future members.
